“Elaine listened carefully to our hopes for a distinctive look. Her emphasis on "process" was very helpful in guiding us as she developed a thorough and thoughtful plan that also considered our busy schedules and limited experience. Our property has been transformed, so much so that our [my] in-laws drove right past the house on their first visit after Team Brubaker had worked their magic...and we are delighted that stewardship is available to help us with maintenance now and in the future.”

“Each day I see my landscaping dreams come into greater fruition, as I discover new sight–lines and other unique characteristics of our developing Japanese garden. This has given me an appreciation of Brubaker’s philosophy of not rushing the landscape developing process, but making it one that occurs over time.”

C. Elaine Brubaker,
President of Brubaker Landscape Designs

Acting as Brubaker Landscape Designs’ Principal Designer and on-site Art Director, C. Elaine Brubaker’s quest for artistic expression has led her through various creative fields over the years that ultimately culminated into a solid passion for Landscape Architecture. In 1988, she founded the Minneapolis-based company known today as Brubaker Landscape Designs.

Brubaker’s formative years were spent on her family’s Pennsylvania dairy farm. This experience taught her invaluable lessons in problem solving and a fascination and sensitivity for the land and how we treat it. “I was fortunate to have incredible role models, and I am dedicated to living up to those high-quality standards”, says Brubaker.

Brubaker’s interest in history and travel help her to better understand the land and its formative processes while further fueling her passion for creating places for people to live in harmony with other humans and the land. As the Company’s visionary, Brubaker continues to assist her team of professionals in creating remarkable outdoor spaces.

Brubaker’s formal education includes: Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, University of Minnesota (College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture) and Bachelor of Arts in theatre and fine arts from Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
